Multifunctional Integrated Construction Materials Lab

Multifunctional Integrated Construction Materials (MICM) Laboratory at Kyungpook National University (Director: Prof. Geuntae Hong) is an ideal environment for designing, characterizing, and developing future-oriented construction materials that contribute to sustainable and safe civil infrastructure. 

Our research focuses on the development and application of innovative and sustainable EcoSmart civil engineering materials. 

Current research topics include: 

• Development of advanced smart concrete, such as self-sensing and self-healing composites

• Cementitious composites incorporating industrial by-product-based SCMs

• Development of multifunctional cement composites with CO₂ capture capability
