Eng Hong (Michael) Sin is a mathematics instructor at Henry Ford College. He joined the college in August 2021. Before joining Henry Ford College, he spent five years teaching at Odessa College. He primarily teaches statistics, calculus, and Math for the Modern World.
Sin earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mathematics from the University of Central Oklahoma. Sin co-sponsors Henry Ford College’s Math Club and the College’s participation in AMATYC’s Student Math League and Student Research League.
Sin has developed course materials using Open Educational Resources (OER) to ensure accessibility and affordability for all students. He also implements active learning strategies in the classroom to enhance student learning. He has presented his teaching strategies at professional conferences.
Sin is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges (AMATYC), the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), and the Michigan Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges (MichMATYC).
