Ali Shoumer is a mathematics instructor at Henry Ford College. He joined the College as a part-time instructor in August 2021 and became a full-time instructor in Winter 2025. He is committed to helping students develop a strong understanding of Mathematics and problem-solving techniques.
Ali Shoumer earned his bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Lebanese University in Beirut, Lebanon, and his master’s degree in mathematics from Wayne State University. He has been teaching for over six years. With a passion for making mathematics accessible and engaging, he focuses on breaking down complex concepts into understandable steps, ensuring that students build confidence in their mathematical abilities.
Throughout his career, Ali Shoumer has implemented innovative teaching strategies by integrating technology, real-world applications, and interactive learning techniques to enhance student learning. He believes that math is a critical skill for academic and career success, and his goal is to equip students with the tools they need to excel in higher-level math courses and everyday problem-solving.
Outside the classroom, Ali Shoumer enjoys volunteer tutoring, reading, and playing soccer. He actively participates in conferences such as AMATYC and MichMATYC. His commitment to student success and enthusiasm for mathematics continue to inspire and shape the academic community.
