John Patrick earned his Masters in Mathematics from Eastern Michigan University, and was proud to join Henry Ford College in 2025. He has been teaching at the college level for 13 years. He loves teaching math of all levels, from pre-algebra to differential equations. He believes that, like any other language, students should learn math by actively doing math.
John is a member of MichMATYC, and he has been working with other instructors at HFC to reimagine our Math for the Modern World course as part of the Reconnect Mathematics Active Learning grant project.
By night, John is a professional musician, playing keyboard and guitar with local dance band The Ones and Twos, as well as composing and recording his own original music. He lives in Ypsilanti with his wife Robyn and dog Bodie.
