I am a Senior AI Engineer @ SourceAudio.com leading the company's AI R&D. My focus is on music information retireval, generation and processing. At SourceAudio we help musicians distribute, protect and monetize their work and businesses and music supervisors to find, license, access and process top level quality music for their projects.
Previously I worked as a Strategic Research Manager and Research Scientist at GN Group's, Global Research team working on HCI, Machine Learning and Human-Factors Engineering concepts with a focus on hearing-aid related technology. As a Strategic Research Manager I was responsible to lead the companies research efforts and roadmap on "Scene Analysis & User Modeling".
Previously I was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Michigan's AI Lab, doing research on Multi-Modal Processing for Human Behavior Modeling at the Language and Information Technology Group directed by Professor Rada Mihalcea.
I received my Ph.D. in 2019 as a member of the Heracleia- Human Centered Computing Lab in a joint Doctorate program between the University of Texas at Arlington and the National Center of Scientific Research, "Demokritos". Before that, I received a M.Eng. Diploma from the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at the Technical University of Crete in 2013.
My primary research interests are on the fields of Multi-Modal Processing, Human Machine Interaction and Applied Machine Learning with a special "excitement :)" on User Behavior Understanding, Modeling & Monitoring.

October 2023 - After 3 beautiful years at GN's global research team I will be joining SourceAudio.com as a Senior AI Engineer leading the company's R&D efforts on music generation and retrieval.
July 2023 - Our patents "Method for providing visual markings on a connector for a hearing device" and "Connector and hearing device comprising said connector", w/ collegues Q. Yang, E.Oneill & C. Grønnegaard where released.
October 2022 - Our paper "CheckMyFit: Ear Selfie to Assist User Insertion of Hearing Aids" has been accepted and will be presented at MobileHCI 2022 by ACM at Vancouver.
August 2022 - 'Check My Fit', a mobile feature to assist with hearing aid insertion has being launched by Resound to the market. Great accomplishment for myself and the whole team.
April 2021 - Outstanding Paper Award and Best Paper Award Finalist @ IUI2021 for our paper "Understanding Driving Distractions: A Multimodal Approach to Distraction Detection and Recognition."
January 2021 - I will be joining GN Group's outstanding research team on developing novel HCI solutions for tomorrow's hearing-aid assistive technologies!
