Fully funded PhD position in combinatorics in Australia

Department of Mathematics and Statistics, La Trobe University, Bendigo, Australia.

We have an opportunity for a candidate to work towards a PhD with Dr Michael Payne at La Trobe University in Bendigo, Australia. The topic will be in the field of combinatorics, particularly discrete geometry and/or graph theory.

The successful applicant will have a master's degree in mathematics or theoretical computer science (or bachelor's with first class honours), including an excellent thesis or other evidence of prior research experience, such as refereed publications.

The position comes with a living allowance of around AUD 27,082 per annum (2018 rate) for a maximum of 3.5 years, and fee relief for up to 4 years (so no course fees are payable). It is open to both Australian and international applicants.

About La Trobe: La Trobe University was founded in 1964 and currently has around 36,000 students. Its main campus is in Bundoora, a suburb of Melbourne, with a number of smaller campuses throughout Victoria.
