Michael installed eight flagpoles and built a flag retirement pit at the VFW/American Legion Post located at 320 North Union Street, Lambertville, NJ.

The eight flagpoles were placed in the front of the building near the main flagpole where the American flag is displayed. He also built a permanent flag retirement pit at the back of the Post for the respectful retirement of American flags. The flag retirement pit will be used solely for the purpose of retiring American flags and will be considered "sacred ground." His project has allowed the respectful display of the KIA, POW, and service branch flags and provided a respectful area for flag retirement ceremonies.
