I am an evolutionary microbiologist focused on understanding the ecological and evolutionary selective drivers of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in fungal and bacterial pathogens. My work aims to understand how the genomic context of a pathogen interacts with its environment to alter the evolution and spread of AMR within microbial populations. I use a combination of mathematical and computational modelling, experimental evolution, and molecular microbiology to investigate the selective dynamics and trajectories of AMR evolution. I am a Sir Henry Wellcome Research Fellow within the Manchester Gungal Infection Group at the University of Manchester.
