Paying It Forward
Early on in his childhood, Michael Angiolelli's mentors instilled within him the value in empowering others. Because of this, Angiolelli has always believed in the concept of paying it forward, or continuing a cycle of goodwill and good deeds without anticipating the action to be returned. As a child, he found himself inspired by the philosophy as represented in Mimi Leder's Pay It Forward. In Angiolelli's view, philanthropy in its purest form is about contributing to something that is larger than yourself, without requiring glory or praise. He also believes that no contribution is too small. You don't have to found an organization or establish a movement to help others. Instead, Angiolelli is a firm believer in the notion that the effects of your effort are deeply rooted in your intentions. As the age old saying goes, in many ways, it is the thought that ultimately counts the most!
Charity Work
Every year, Michael Angiolelli sets his sights on a charitable project by actively volunteering wherever he is needed! In previous years, he has volunteered his time at nursing homes and with organizations that support children and adults with special needs. Angiolelli has also worked directly with deaf individuals; this experience in particular has inspired him to do his part to bridge the gap by going the extra mile to communicate inclusively. On the road ahead, this young philanthropist hopes to inspire efforts that highlight this notion, despite varying languages and communication methods. In Michael Angiolelli's view, communication is a cornerstone of all communities -- especially our universal community of humanity. When we are able to communicate, despite our differences, there is no limit to what we can accomplish together!
In recent years, Michael Angiolelli has found himself fascinated by the culture of music. The entire process of creating and sharing music inspires him. In the future, he hopes to realize this interest in a productive way by motivating others to express their thoughts and emotions through music. Angiolelli is currently searching for a nonprofit that will help him accomplish his vision of communication and compassion achieved through music. According to the young philanthropist and amateur musician, music is a universal language -- despite a person's spoken language, background or ability level.
