About Me:

My name is Ms. Micale and I am so pleased for the opportunity to teach and work with your child this school year! While I am entering my 3rd year at Paulding/Abney, I have been teaching and serving in the education community for over 20 years. My journey into education began when I started homeschooling my three sons in the early 90's. In homeschooling my children, I discovered that one of my sons had a reading disability. In order to better help him, I went back to school to finish my teaching degree with a minor in special education. My heart for working with children who struggled to learn continued as I worked for the next 20 years in a number of independent and public schools. Still striving to better serve my students, I continued with my schooling and eventually obtained a Master's Degree in Education and an EDS (Education Specialist Degree) in Curriculum and Instruction.

As you can see, I have a true passion for teaching and learning - especially those students who learn differently.

Now that I've gotten the preliminary stuff out of the way, here are some fun things about me!

I have a pet tuxedo cat named Clarice....yes as in the movie Hannibal. My son gave her to me. He has a cat named Hannibal. (Scroll down to end for picture.)

Something about me that usually surprises people: I am a Navy Veteran who served in the Aviation Wing. I was the 3rd woman to graduate from Naval Aircrew Candidate School and I have flown all over the world transporting military troops.

My favorite things include:

Favorite Color - Aqua/Blue

Favorite thing to do when I'm not teaching - Reading, Sewing, Crocheting, Gardening

Favorite type of music - Country...and I love the old Sinatra-type standards

Favorite place to visit - Any garden anywhere (Gibb's gardens is beautiful most any time of year.)

Favorite Restaurant - Anything Mexican or Italian

Favorite Food - A cross between Mexican and Italian

Favorite Candy - Anything Chocolate; Reece's peanut butter cups

Favorite Flower - Peony and/or Daisy

Favorite Book - Wonder (which some of my students will be reading this school year.)

Favorite Movie Type - Thrillers or Historical movies
