Storyline
My mom, Dianne, was born along with 2 older sisters and 2 younger sisters, and 2 younger brothers.
When my mom was little in Vietnam, she bought and had a duckling because of how fragile they are and are taken care of. They are vulnerable creatures that most people like to volunteer.
Before the Vietnam War started, she had a best friend, named Lanh, who had a great moment with her. Also, she had a boy best friend named Chan, in the meantime, who lived in another country.
Her father, Thanh, was captured and taken by the communist while he sides with the Americans.
My father also lived at the time in Vietnam, but in another city, when he came to the United States in 1987, 6 years later before my mom.
My parents came by plane, which was after Vietnam War. They both met in America.
After my parents came to the United States, my mom works at soldering, which is used a filler metal to join things together.
They were married on November 26, 1995.
I reflect that their story has an interesting points of how it connects to the diaspora. Because of this, I believe that we respect our culture, and be more cognizant to who we are.
