My dad was one of the many people that fled his home country at the last moment, in 1975, before Saigon fell. He could not stay, for fear the northern government would prosecute them, for his siblings worked for the south government during the war. He went from Saigon all the way to where we live now, San Jose.
In 1975, my dad escaped from Saigon, and went to a foster family in San Diego, California. After growing up there, he moved closer to his siblings, who were living in San Jose, California where we still live today.
