Hello! my name is Anna and i'm a first year at MHTL
Here is a story about my moms journey :)
My mom is a caring and happy person. This is a story about her journey to America and. how she learned to adapted.
Born on May 10, 1976 with 5 other siblings. In Vietnam she was very poor and living in poverty. She had to work and go to school at the same time while caring for her younger siblings.
My mom's dad fought in the Vietnam war. Since my mom's dad was in the war, her dad and two of her siblings went with him to Thailand in a camp to try to go to America. They told her dad to go back to Vietnam and wait since there were too many people. After waiting back in Vietnam they accepted their request to go to America. They bought all new clothes and took a plane to America with her whole family.
After coming to the US she had to learn to adapt. Since it was a lot colder in California she hated the cold at first. She said learning English was the hardest part. She had to go to work to help support her family while going to school at Mission college. Her two youngest siblings went to MHS and my mom would have to pick them up after school every day. They struggled a little with money but after a while, she settled into her new life.
After many years my mom's best friend introduced her to her brother, my dad. They dated for a couple of months and finally got married. My mom left college to start a family with my dad. After getting married she had me and after trying a few times she finally had my sister. She was filled with joy and happiness as her dream family was complete.
After doing this project I learned the hardships and struggles my mom went through her life to give me and my sister a better and successful life in America. This really helped me focus on how I can change for the better and help out my parents when they're going through a rough time as well as in the future give back to them. In the future, I want to keep this as a legacy of the things my parents went through to make our lives better.
