Most Holy Trinity's Vietnamese Catechetical Program
This storytelling project gives us the chance to explore our families' narratives in great depth. As part of the Vietnamese diaspora, there are times when we find it difficult to connect with our parents--which can evolve to greater misunderstandings within the family. Speaking to them about their experience gives them the opportunity to open up candidly about the past and for us to understand how God guided them through the journey. God's love for us is unconditional and has no boundaries. When times are difficult, we must remember to trust in the path that He has planned for us. With God, all things are possible.
By talking to our relatives about our family history and background, we hope to develop a better sense of our identity by achieving the following:
Dự án này giúp chúng em tìm về nguồn gốc của gia đình mình một các sâu xa hơn. Chúng em đã tìm hiểu về câu chuyện và quá khứ của gia đình để biết thêm về căn tính của chính bản thân mình trong những các sau đây:
Recognizing the role of faith in our family's life (in Vietnam, during the journey, and in America)
Realizing the sacrifices made and understanding the trauma our family went through for the life we have today
Understanding why our relatives think/act a certain way so we can have conversations from a place of empathy and compassion
Continuing to capture our family's narratives so that our stories can be passed down through future generations
Thank you to the following folks for your help on this journey. Without your help, this project would not have been possible.
