"There are many magic rings in this world, Bilbo Baggins, and none of them should be used lightly," is how Gandalf admonishes Bilbo for using the One Ring to pull a prank at his own birthday party.
Our rings might not be actually, literally magic, but we think they're pretty neat.
The stone in Jessica's Ring has a history and thus a sentimental magic of its own. Her grandfather Frank bought it to propose to her grandmother Anne, all the way back in 1960. Gram wore the ring around her finger or on a chain for decades after Frank's death, until her own passing in 2021. A symbol of loyalty and love and connection to family, Jessica will cherish what it will bring to her own marriage. Its current woven branches setting is new, forged by the elves at Bashinki's out of green gold.
Michael harnessed the wonderous magic of computers (and borrowed heavily from others' ideas) to create his own Ring, a design of two interwoven angular knotwork cords. He sent this design through the virtual pathways of the internet to the cunning dwarven craftsmen at Shapeways, who took that file and 3D printed it in gold-plated brass. From conception to reality, amazing what dwarven ingenuity can accomplish!
In other news, the wedding venue was hit by a tornado and the whole county was declared a disaster area! Several trees are down but there's no damage to the house or vital infrastructure so wedding plans are continuing unabated. Clear eyes, proud feet, can't lose.
