Thanks for visiting our page. We are currently in the process of a major update. Please stay tuned. More information to come!
This page began with the creation of the original "2025 Middle Georgia Community Resource Guide". The guide and this website were created through a collaboration between Georgia College & State University’s Criminal Justice program and the Mary Vinson Memorial Library.
A library assistant at the time (2024), Garrett Keenahan, approached Dr. Alesa Liles asking what the library could do to better support justice impacted individuals in the community. Out of several conversations grew the idea of a resource guide that the library staff could use to support their patrons. But of course, Dr. Liles saw more, and so the idea grew beyond the local community and beyond a singular guide.
In the Spring of 2025, the first edition of the 2025 Middle Georgia Community Resource Guide was published. It was created with the assistance of the fall 2024 Senior Seminar class. Additionally, Dr. Liles created a website (where you are reading this now 😉) with a supplemental directory and forms database.
In the Fall of 2025, Dr. Liles was approached by the Reentry Division of the Department of Community Supervision. They were impressed by the website and wanted to talk about possible expansion to include the entire state. Of course Dr. Liles never backs down from a challenge 💪
Sooooo, over the past few months we have embarked on a massive endeavor. The fall 2025 Senior Seminar and Spring 2026 Reentry classes began the information gathering process for resources across the state. In the next few months you will see quite a few changes to this website.
First, it will now be the Georgia Community Resource Page.
Second, the page will include free and low cost resources and information from the entire state. The state will be divided into the 10 judicial districts. We'll provide a map with each district and counties included.
Third, we have created some topic specific resource guides and short videos (ex. recovery assistance, employment, etc.).
At this time we will also make edits and additions that have been submitted through the link at the bottom of the page. If you would like to submit something, please do so ASAP.
Please be patient as we grow our site. This process is complex and the information we provide can profoundly impact someone's life. We want to get it right.
Thank you!
This documents contains information for all organizations and service providers in the guide as well as many more.
The Georgia Community Resources page (and additional materials) is hosted on the Voices of the Returned: Life After Incarceration podcast page. The podcast and the resource guide were created by Dr. Alesa Liles and students in the Criminal Justice program at Georgia College & State University.
