App Name: Device File Engine
1. Introduction
Welcome to Device File Engine ("we," "our," or "app"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data with transparency and security. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile file management application.
Please read this policy carefully. By installing and using Mobile File Capital, you consent to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
We believe in minimal data collection. As a file manager, we respect the sensitivity of your data. Therefore, we want to be explicitly clear about what we do not collect:
File Content: We do not read, access, upload, or transmit the actual content of your files (e.g., documents, photos, videos, music) stored on your device or connected cloud accounts unless you explicitly perform an action to share or upload a file to a service you have chosen. Even then, the data is transmitted directly to that service, not to our servers.
Personal Information: We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect personal identifiers like your name, email address (except for support, as provided by you), phone number, or physical address through the standard operation of the app.
3. Information We Collect
The information we collect is primarily non-personal and is used for the core functionality and improvement of the app.
A. Information Collected Automatically
App Usage Data: We collect anonymized data about how you interact with the app. This includes features used, session duration, and crash reports. This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify you.
Device Information: We collect non-personal device information such as your device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers (like Advertising ID), and free storage space. This helps us ensure compatibility and optimize performance.
File Metadata: To provide file management services (like sorting, searching, and displaying files), we access file metadata. This includes:
File name and extension
File size
File type (e.g., .pdf, .jpg)
Date created and date modified
File path/directory location
This metadata NEVER leaves your device and is processed locally.
B. Information You Provide Voluntarily
Cloud Storage Credentials: If you choose to link cloud storage accounts (e.g., Google Drive, Dropbox), you will be asked to provide login credentials directly to the respective cloud service provider (using OAuth). We do not store your cloud passwords. We only receive and store an access token to facilitate file operations between your device and your cloud account, as permitted by the provider's API.
Support Communications: If you contact us for support via email (arkadykirillov785@gmail.com), we will collect your email address and the content of your communication to assist you.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following legitimate purposes:
To Provide Core Functionality: To enable file browsing, copying, moving, deleting, and managing storage on your device and connected cloud accounts.
To Improve Our App: To analyze usage trends and crash reports to fix bugs, enhance performance, and develop new features.
To Provide Customer Support: To respond to your inquiries and provide technical assistance.
For Security: To monitor and prevent misuse or unauthorized access to the app's services.
5. Legal Basis for Processing (For EEA/UK Users - GDPR)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), our legal basis for processing your information is:
Performance of a Contract: Processing is necessary to provide the file management services you have requested.
Legitimate Interests: Processing is necessary for our legitimate interests in improving the app, ensuring its security, and understanding how it is used, provided that these interests are not overridden by your rights.
Consent: For specific, non-essential purposes, we will ask for your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
6. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your information to third parties. We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:
Service Providers: We may employ third-party companies (e.g., analytics providers like Google Firebase) to facilitate our app, provide the service on our behalf, or assist us in analyzing how our app is used. These third parties are contractually obligated to handle data confidentially and are prohibited from using it for any other purpose.
Legal Compliance: We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or a government agency).
Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred. We will provide notice before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different Privacy Policy.
7. International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed on servers located outside of the country where you live, including in India. We take all measures reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy, regardless of where it is processed.
8. Your Data Protection Rights

9. Data Security

These include using encryption in transit for any data that leaves your device and secure protocols for cloud connections. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
10. Data Retention
