Congratulations to Samantha Niehaus,
our 2017 Idea Slam Winner!
I am a 4th-grade teacher at East Jackson Elementary. I am wrapping up my 4th year teaching at the elementary level. I also coach Girls on the Run, and this year, I have taken on the school Greenhouse! I am very close to my 7 younger siblings, enjoy watching sporting events, being outdoors, and having fun every day. I love to try new things, laugh out loud, and visit new cities. I graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a degree in Elementary Education and will return to EMU this fall to start my Master's program in Educational Technology. My favorite read aloud series in the classroom is the Olivia Brophie trilogy. I love teaching science, and writing, and hope that every day in my classroom is as fun and exciting as the last. I am excited to bring a maker lab to my students, and know that "making" will be the greatest adventure we get to journey through!
