This Privacy Policy describes how Metro Yatri ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application Metro Yatri and its city editions (including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Kochi, Pune, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Kanpur, Nagpur, Agra, and the All-India edition) (together, the "App").
By downloading or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Introduction
Metro Yatri is a metro route-planning app that helps you find routes, fares, interchanges, station details, and timings for Indian metro networks. We respect your privacy and have built the App to work with as little personal data as possible. You do not need to create an account, and we do not ask for your name, email address, or phone number to use the main features of the App.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
a) Information you provide
• Purchase information. If you buy a Premium subscription or a one-time purchase, the transaction is handled by Google Play and our purchase provider. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.
• Support messages. If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to send us.
b) Location information (only with your permission)
• The App has an optional "Live Location" feature that uses your device's precise location to show your position along a metro route while you travel.
• Location is accessed only when you turn this feature on, and only while the related screen is open. We do not track your location in the background, and we do not use location for advertising.
• You can turn this off at any time from the App or from your device settings.
c) Device and usage information (collected automatically)
• Device model, operating system version, app version, language, and selected city.
• Crash reports, error logs, and performance data.
• App usage events, such as which screens you view and which features you use (for example, searching for a route).
d) Advertising information
• The App may show ads. Our advertising partners may collect and use a device advertising identifier and related data to show and measure ads.
e) Information stored on your device
• Some settings and preferences (such as your selected city) are stored locally on your device and are not sent to us in a form that identifies you personally.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
• Provide and operate the App's features, including route planning, fares, timings, and live location.
• Find and fix crashes and bugs and improve the App's performance and reliability.
• Understand how the App is used so we can improve it.
• Show and measure advertisements.
• Process and restore Premium purchases and subscriptions.
• Enable or disable certain features remotely for different app editions.
• Comply with the law and prevent fraud or misuse.
4. Third-Party Services
The App uses trusted third-party services that may collect information as described in their own privacy policies:
• Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config) – analytics, crash reporting, and remote configuration.

• WhatsApp – the optional "Book Ticket" button opens WhatsApp so you can message a ticketing service. Information you share there is governed by WhatsApp's privacy policy.

These providers may process data on servers located outside your country, including in the United States.
5. Advertising and Your Choices
Ads may be personalized or non-personalized depending on your settings and applicable law. You can reset or limit ad personalization in your device settings:
• Android: Settings > Google > Ads, then "Delete advertising ID" or "Opt out of Ads Personalization".
Where required by law, we and our advertising partners request your consent before showing personalized ads.
6. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:
• With the third-party service providers listed above, for the purposes described.
• To comply with the law, legal process, or a valid government request.
• To protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, the public, or us.
• In connection with a business transfer, such as a merger or acquisition, subject to this Privacy Policy.
7. Data Retention
• Analytics and diagnostic data is kept for the period set by our providers (typically up to 14 months for analytics, and a limited period for crash data) and then aggregated or deleted.
• Purchase records are kept as long as needed to provide your purchase and to meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements.
• Settings stored on your device remain until you clear the app data or uninstall the App.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures, and rely on the security practices of Google and our other providers, to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Your Rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR in the EEA/UK or the Digital Personal Data Protection Act in India), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. You can also opt out of analytics and personalized ads using your device settings.
11. Permissions Used by the App
The App may request:
• Location (precise/approximate): only for the optional Live Location feature.
• Internet and network access: to load route data, ads, remote configuration, and diagnostics.
You can grant or revoke permissions at any time in your device settings. Revoking a permission may disable the related feature.
12. International Users
The App is intended mainly for users in India. If you use the App from outside India, you understand that your information may be processed in India and in the countries where our service providers operate.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the App after the changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
