At Metal X Technologies, we often say — every component tells a story, but only some make us rethink what’s possible. One such story began when a client approached us with a challenging requirement:
“Can you help us cut a rubber extrusion profile — accurately, cleanly, and without distortion?”
Rubber and Wire EDM — these two don’t naturally belong in the same sentence. While Wirecut machines are known for slicing through hardened steels and carbide blocks, rubber is soft, flexible, and non-conductive. But challenges like these are what Metal X Technologies in Odhav, Ahmedabad thrives on.
Rubber extrusion profiles are delicate. When cut, they tend to deform, compress, or shift slightly — even with the smallest vibration. For a Wirecut process that relies on micrometer-level accuracy, even a fraction of movement can ruin the geometry.
That’s when our engineering team began designing a custom fixture — a holding solution built not just to clamp the part, but to understand it. The design involved a special support cavity that distributed pressure evenly while maintaining the shape of the extrusion.
The key was fixture balance — we needed to prevent compression while keeping absolute stability. Through multiple test fits, simulation of tension points, and real-time alignment checks on our Ratnaparkhi H NXG 3545 Wirecut Machine, we achieved a result that was both repeatable and cleanly executed.
In manufacturing, fixtures often play behind-the-scenes roles. But in Wire EDM, especially for complex or soft materials, the fixture determines the outcome. For this project, our fixture was machined out of tool steel, wirecut for accuracy, and designed to fit the extrusion with minimal mechanical stress.
It was more than a clamp — it became an extension of the material’s shape.
The process required tuning of machine parameters — wire tension, flushing pressure, and cutting speed — to achieve the balance between precision and safety of the material.
This level of customization is what defines Metal X Technologies — a mix of engineering intuition, Wirecut skill, and creative problem-solving.
For us, this isn’t just another job completed — it’s an example of how engineering evolves. Each project adds to our internal knowledge bank of what’s possible with CNC Wirecut technology.
We believe in sharing these insights because clients often discover that Wire EDM can solve problems beyond metal cutting. From die & mould inserts to special fixtures, and now even rubber extrusion tools, the applications are expanding every day.
This particular fixture taught us how Wirecut’s accuracy can be paired with mechanical empathy — understanding the nature of materials and adapting the process to suit them.
From our workshop in Odhav, Ahmedabad, we support industries that demand nothing less than perfection — plastic moulding, die manufacturing, extrusion tooling, and precision components.
We’re proud to represent Ahmedabad’s growing manufacturing excellence with projects that blend design intelligence, local innovation, and high-accuracy machining.
When we say our tagline, “Every Edge Made with Xcellence,” it’s not a slogan — it’s the outcome of every job that leaves our floor.

The Rubber Extrusion Fixture Project might sound small — but it reflects what we believe makes an engineering company truly great:
the ability to think beyond drawings, to adapt tools for new purposes, and to deliver precision even when conditions are unconventional.
At Metal X Technologies, we continue to push the limits of what Wirecut machining can achieve — for every client, every material, and every edge that demands Xcellence.
