This workshop will include a discussion of the practical challenges faced in anti-personnel demining by The HALO Trust as well as talks on the latest developments in the underpinning mathematical theory of metal detection, numerical computations and sensor development from experts in the field. The discussions will also reflect on other important applications of metal detection including security screening, food safety, the search for items of archeological significance, non-destructive testing and in forensic science. In addition to a range of talks, there will also be opportunities for discussion.

It is anticipated that the workshop will start at around 10am on Wednesday 17th September 2025 and finish by 5pm. A programme and further details will be made available closer to the time.
