1. Introduction
Welcome to MetaClean. Your privacy is our highest priority. MetaClean is designed from the ground up as a 100% on-device, offline privacy tool. We do not collect, store, transmit, or share any of your personal data or images with any external server, company, or third party.
2. Data We Access
Photo / Media Access MetaClean reads images you select from your device gallery to read, display, and clean the EXIF/metadata embedded in your photos. All processing happens entirely on your device. Your images are never uploaded, transmitted, or shared anywhere.
Storage (Write) MetaClean saves cleaned images to a dedicated Pictures/MetaClean folder on your device only. No copy is sent externally.
Internet (Billing Only) MetaClean uses Google Play Billing exclusively for in-app purchases (MetaClean Pro). MetaClean itself does not receive or store any payment information.
3. Data We Do NOT Collect
MetaClean does not collect, access, or transmit:
Your photos or images
EXIF metadata read from your photos
GPS / location data found in images
Device identifiers (IMEI, Android ID)
Your name, email, or account information
Crash logs or analytics
Ad tracking identifiers
4. On-Device Processing — Our Core Promise
Every operation in MetaClean runs locally on your device. EXIF reading, AI/C2PA signature detection, metadata cleaning, and history logs — all happen on-device only. No image or metadata ever leaves your phone.
5. In-App Purchases
Purchases are handled entirely by Google Play. MetaClean only receives a confirmation signal (purchased / not purchased) to unlock Pro features. Google Play's Privacy Policy applies: https://policies.google.com/privacy
6. Third-Party Libraries
MetaClean uses open-source libraries (AndroidX ExifInterface, Hilt, Room, Jetpack Compose, Coil, Google Play Billing). None of these libraries collect personal data.
7. Children's Privacy
MetaClean collects no personal data from any user, making it safe for all age groups including children under 13.
8. Data Retention
All data (cleaning history, cleaned images) is stored locally on your device and fully under your control. You can delete history from within the app and delete cleaned images from your gallery at any time. No data is retained on any external server.
