Welcome to Messages, a super fast SMS messenger app with powerful features, developed by Warp Softwares. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle data in our app.
We do not require you to create an account or provide personal information. All data recovery operations happen locally on your device. We do not collect any type of user data, and we do not share any of your personal data with third-party companies, services, or individuals. Since all data is processed and stored locally, it never leaves your device through our application.
This policy covers our practices for the app available on Google Play Store. By using Messages, you agree to these terms.
This Privacy Policy applies to Messages by Warp Softwares, located in Gujarat, India. It describes our data practices, including what information is handled (none collected by us), how it's used (locally), and your rights.
We built this app to make SMS messaging fast and easy. It targets general users (not children under 13) and includes ads, analytics (non-personal), and in-app purchases. Questions? Contact us at contacts.warpsoftwares@gmail.com
We do not collect any personal information from you.
No names, emails, phone numbers, or identifiers are gathered by us. SMS messages, contacts, and app data stay local on your device. We only use device permissions for core features (explained below) and non-personal analytics via third parties like Firebase to improve app performance.
Under GDPR, processing is based on:
Consent: For optional features like notifications.
Contract: To provide SMS features you expect.
Legitimate interests: Non-personal analytics to fix bugs and enhance the app, balanced against your rights.
Legal obligations: Complying with laws, like SMS permissions.
EU users can withdraw consent via device settings.
Our app requests specific Android permissions only for essential SMS features. These are standard for messaging apps and access data locally on your device—we do not store or transmit it to servers. You can review or revoke them anytime in your device Settings > Apps > Messages > Permissions.
Here's each one, why it's needed, and how it's used:
POST_NOTIFICATIONS (android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Sends notifications for new SMS, message restore progress, or app updates. Enhances experience by alerting you without opening the app. No data is sent externally.
READ_CONTACTS (android.permission.READ_CONTACTS): Reads contacts locally to show names/numbers in messages. Makes conversations easier—we never store or share contact data.
CALL_PHONE (android.permission.CALL_PHONE) and READ_PHONE_STATE (android.permission.READ_PHONE_STATE): Enables direct calls from the app using your carriers/accounts. Checks phone state for SMS-related features like call logs in threads.
WAKE_LOCK (android.permission.WAKE_LOCK): Keeps your screen/device active briefly to show incoming messages, even if locked/off. Prevents missed SMS.
FOREGROUND_SERVICE and FOREGROUND_SERVICE_DATA_SYNC (android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE, android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE_DATA_SYNC): Runs visible services (with notifications) for ongoing tasks like message restore or syncing local data. Ensures reliability without background killing by the OS.
READ_SMS, SEND_SMS, RECEIVE_SMS, WRITE_SMS (android.permission.READ_SMS, android.permission.SEND_SMS, android.permission.RECEIVE_SMS, android.permission.WRITE_SMS): Core SMS permissions to read, send, receive, and save messages on your device. Standard for any SMS app—handles full messaging cycle locally.
RECEIVE_WAP_PUSH (android.permission.RECEIVE_WAP_PUSH): Receives WAP push/service messages, treated like regular SMS.
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED (android.permission.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED): Restarts SMS listening after device reboot, so you don't miss messages.
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE (android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE): Checks Wi-Fi/mobile data status for features like scheduling or restores—doesn't use internet for your data.
SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM (android.permission.SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM): Schedules delayed SMS sends precisely.
Permissions follow Android Permissions Documentation Revoke any via settings; some features may stop working.
All data stays local on your device. SMS, contacts, and settings use secure Android storage like RoomDb (local database). No cloud sync or external servers for your messages.
Local Only: Messages and app data (e.g., drafts, settings) are encrypted via Android's built-in security and stored in app-private files/databases.
No Transmission: Nothing leaves your device. Backups? Handled by your device/Google if enabled—not us.
Security Measures: We use Android best practices like HTTPS for any third-party calls (e.g., ads), permission checks, and obfuscation. Crash reports (anonymous) help fix issues.
Your Device Security: Keep your OS updated; we can't control device-level risks like malware.
Uninstalling deletes everything. No "100% secure" claims—risks exist, but we minimize them.
We use open-source and Google libraries for performance/UI. They do not collect personal data unless noted (e.g., anonymous analytics). All process locally or via consented services. Review their policies:
Firebase (Analytics, Firestore, Crashlytics, Performance, Messaging, BoM): Anonymous usage/crash data for improvements; push notifications. No personal IDs. See Firebase Privacy Policy
