Each Canvas user can decide if/how to be notified of events in your courses on Canvas. There are four options:
Notify me right away
Send daily summary
Send weekly summary
Do not send me anything
It is recommended that you check your Canvas Notifications (Account > Notifications) and set them appropriately, so that you stay well-informed on your Canvas course events. The screenshot below shows where Canvas users can find these notification settings.
From Canvas Dashboard, open the course
Click on "View Course Notifications"
Switch the toggle to off.
You'll no longer receive notifications for that course.
If you use Safari on a Mac, you may have difficulty viewing images inside a Canvas Quiz. Here is the fix for Safari on a Mac:
Open Safari
Go to the Safari menu and select "Preferences…"
Click into the Privacy tab
Uncheck "Prevent cross-site tracking"
Close the Preferences window and continue normally
Or use Google Chrome when taking Canvas Quizzes.
To connect your GoogleDrive account to your Canvas account, you'll need to update your User Settings in Canvas to Register your GoogleDrive account. (See screenshot to the right.)
Once you've done this, you'll see GoogleDrive as a tab when submitting your Canvas assignment.
Here's the Canvas Guide for more info on this: How do I upload a file from Google Drive as an assignment submission in Canvas?
Pronto can be a great tool for staying connected to your class. If you find that the Pronto notifications are distracting you, you can mute them. Here's a video showing you how.
