National Science Week / Minggu Sains Negara (MSN) aims to

* Raise public awareness on the importance of Science, Technology and Innovations (STIs) in our daily life.

* Attract interest and increase the number of students who choose Science, Technology, Maths and Engineering (STEM) majors in line with the National STEM agenda

* Appreciate and recognize contributions and achievements in science

In support of National Science Week, we proudly present to you MESAC 2021 - a collaborative effort of Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation(MOSTI), Technology Park Malaysia and Techtronic.

Our Objective

To promote, initiate, foster, develop and improve education in STEM and Coding

for Malaysian primary and secondary school students.

IMPORTANT NOTE!

1 SCHOOL 1 PARTICIPANT ONLY. Participants are required to attend the hands-on workshop on 5th April 2021.
Participants must have all pre-requisite components and tools ready prior to joining the workshop and competition via Google Meet.
Actual tasks will only be revealed on the day of the event.
Participants are allowed to refer on rero:micro booklet only, BUT NOT any other source of materials, including external communication.
Participants who achieve TOP 10 rankings in Preliminary Competition will advance into Final Competition
Certificates (physical copies) will be issued to ALL participants.
Medals will be awarded to participants who complete the given tasks within the deadline.
Trophies and robotics sets will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed winners.
Trophies will be awarded to 4th to 10th placed winners.
Judges have the final authority and right to make any decision in the event of any dispute and/or unforeseen circumstances during any point of the competition.

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT & COMPONENTS

The following tools and equipment are compulsory and must be prepared by participants. Organizing committee will not be held accountable for unsatisfactory competition result due to defect or the lack of the following:

Functional rero:micro (including micro:bit)

Ultrasonic Sensor

rero:micro Booklet

MicroUSB cable

Training Map

Pen Holder with Pen/ Marker Pen

White A4 Paper

2. Computer/ Laptop, equipped with

Stable internet connection

Webcam, mic and speaker (or headset)

Capable of connecting and downloading program into rero:micro

Compatible with Google Account (GMail, G.Meet, G.Calendar, G.Form, etc) and Microsoft Makecode for micro:bit

What You Can Learn With reromicro

rero:micro is a child-friendly robot that is especially designed to encourage kids to learn coding in a fun and easy manner. It comes with a booklet (10 hands-on coding lessons) and a game track. In each lesson, there's a step-by-step guide to build the child's confidence, followed by an open-ended challenge to encourage them to explore further.
