I am an Assistant Professor in Computer Science with a strong interest in complex systems and the application of machine learning to communication networks. I earned my Ph.D. from Trinity College Dublin in 2020, after completing my B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in telecommunications engineering at the University of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
My research focuses on the control plane in wireless communication networks, where I explore techniques for dynamic network optimization. Recently, I have been working on optimizing Open Radio Access Network (O-RAN) deployments, with a particular emphasis on improving energy efficiency, performance, and quality of service through machine learning applications. To develop and test these solutions in real-world scenarios, I leverage the OpenIreland testbed.
Currently, I serve as a co-PI on the 6G-XCEL 6G SNS project, coordinated by Trinity College Dublin. This project aims to develop a framework for distributed AI in future communication networks, focusing on innovations in intelligent control, distributed optimization, and self-organizing networks.
