Privacy Policy
Last updated: [FILL IN DATE, e.g. February 1, 2026]
This Privacy Policy explains how Li Chengjun ("we", "us", or "our"), an independent developer, handles information in connection with the mobile application MergeUp: Puzzle & Video Saver (the "App").
By downloading or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
If you have any questions, you can contact us at any time at: hillaryprado791996qsu@gmail.com
Summary
We are an independent developer, not a company. We do not ask you to create an account with us, and we do not collect your name, email, phone number, or other directly identifying information.
The App has two main parts: a number puzzle game and a video saver with a built-in browser.
Videos you download are saved only on your own device. We never receive, upload, or store your downloaded files.
We do not sell or share your personal information.
The App uses Google Play Games Services for the optional leaderboard feature. If you sign in, Google processes your Play Games profile and your scores. This is governed by Google's own privacy policy.
The built-in browser lets you visit third-party websites. Those websites have their own privacy policies that we do not control.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you provide
We do not require registration and do not collect personal contact details. If you email us for support, we will receive your email address and whatever information you choose to include in your message, and we use it only to reply to you.
1.2 Information processed locally on your device (not sent to us)
The following stays on your device and is not transmitted to us:
Game data — your current game state, high score, and in-app settings (such as music on/off and undo count), stored locally on your device.
Browser data — when you use the built-in browser, standard web data such as cookies, cache, and browsing history is stored locally by the browser component so that websites work correctly. You can clear this at any time.
Clipboard content — to make downloading easier, the App may check your device clipboard for a web link when you open or return to the App. This check happens on your device, the clipboard content is not sent to us, and it is used only to offer you a one-tap option to open that link. We do not store or transmit your clipboard data.
Downloaded files — videos and other media you choose to download are saved to your device's storage (in your Downloads folder). These files remain on your device. We do not access, copy, upload, or receive them.
1.3 Information processed by Google Play Games Services
The App integrates Google Play Games Services to provide an optional leaderboard. If you choose to sign in, Google may process your Google Play Games player ID and your game scores in order to operate the leaderboard. This processing is carried out by Google under Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy). If you do not sign in to Google Play Games, this feature is not used.
1.4 Permissions the App may request
Depending on the features you use, the App may ask for the following Android permissions. You can grant or deny them, and you can change them later in your device settings:
Notifications — to show download progress, completion, and reminders.
Storage / media access — to save downloaded videos to your device and, where required by your Android version, to let the media you save appear in your gallery/player. We only access files created by the App for this purpose.
Foreground service — to keep an active download running and show its progress while the App is in the background. This is used only while a download is actually in progress.
2. How We Use Information
We use the limited information described above only to:
provide and operate the game and the video-saving features;
save your preferences and game progress on your device;
show download progress and notifications;
operate the optional Google Play Games leaderboard (via Google);
respond to your support requests; and
maintain the security and proper functioning of the App.
We do not use your information for advertising or profiling. (See Section 5 about possible future changes.)
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not share your information with third parties for their own marketing.
Information is only "shared" in these limited ways:
Google Play Games Services — as described in Section 1.3, for the leaderboard, if you sign in.
Legal reasons — we may disclose information if required to do so by law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request.
4. Third-Party Websites Opened in the Built-In Browser
The App includes a browser that lets you visit websites of your choice. We do not own or control those websites. Any information you provide to them, and any data they collect, is governed by their privacy policies, not this one.
You are responsible for the content you access and download. Please only download content that you have created or that you have the right to download, and respect the terms of service of the websites you visit. The App does not host any content.
5. Future Changes to Features (Advertising & Analytics)
We may, in the future, add third-party services such as advertising or analytics (for example, Google AdMob or Meta/Facebook tools). We have not integrated these yet. If and when we do, we will update this Privacy Policy and the App's Google Play "Data safety" section before those services are enabled, so that you always have accurate information about what is collected.
6. Data Retention
Data stored locally on your device (game progress, settings, browser data, downloaded files) remains until you delete it, clear the App's data, or uninstall the App.
Support emails are kept only as long as needed to handle your request.
Google Play Games data is retained by Google according to Google's policies.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hillaryprado791996qsu@gmail.com and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
8. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information handled by the App. Because most data stays on your own device, keeping your device secure (screen lock, up-to-date system) is the most important protection. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Rights
Because we do not maintain accounts or store your personal information on our servers, most of your data is under your direct control on your device — you can clear App data, delete downloaded files, or uninstall the App at any time.
Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA, UK, or certain US states), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, or to ask any privacy-related question, contact us at: hillaryprado791996qsu@gmail.com
For data processed by Google Play Games Services, please refer to Google's privacy controls and policy.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, for example within the App or on this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
