Refuge

Psalm 46:2 "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in distress."

Isaiah 4:6 "For over all, his glory will be shelter and protection: shade from parching heat of day, refuge and shelter from storm and rain."

What is Refuge?

Refuge is a student-led Christian club. We meet every Monday after school in A-200 to learn about God and grow in fellowship. Each meeting, we hold discussions and fun activities, and pray.

What do we believe?

We believe that God the Father sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to save us from sin.

As Christians, we are called to live like Christ as defined by both the Old and New Testament.

Who can come to the meetings?

Everyone of all backgrounds and faiths are welcome! Make sure to bring friends!

What do we do in group?

Each meeting we will pray and have a time of discussion and worship. We do all sorts of activities, including studying scripture, learning from dynamic speakers, reading books and articles, and discussing Christian movies.

How do we serve the community?

We have volunteered at the Project Hope Homeless Shelter. We serve those children in need in conjunction with five Loaves and fellowship of Christian Athletes. We sing Christmas Carols at Heartland of Mentor Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center before Christmas. We have helped with children in need during the holidays each of the past few years. If you have another idea we’re always open to do even more!

When do we meet?

We meet every Monday in A-200 or air-conditioned A-212 from 230-4pm. We serve the community after school or on the weekends on a completely voluntary basis.
