# Privacy Policy for MemoryBox
Effective Date: 06 11, 2026
MemoryBox is designed as a private, local-first memory app. Your memories are stored on your device, and we do not upload them to our servers.
## Information We Do Not Collect
MemoryBox does not require an account.
We do not collect, sell, rent, or share your personal information. We do not use advertising trackers, third-party analytics SDKs, or cross-app tracking.
We do not receive your memories, photos, videos, voice recordings, notes, tags, collections, or location details.
## Information Stored on Your Device
When you use MemoryBox, the app may store the following information locally on your device:
- Memory titles and descriptions
- Dates
- Tags and categories
- Photos and videos you choose to add
- Voice recordings or audio files you choose to add
- Optional location names and coordinates you choose to save
- Memory boxes, favorites, and app preferences
- Backup files that you choose to export or import
This data is stored in the app’s local storage on your device. We do not have access to it.
## Photos, Videos, and Audio
MemoryBox may allow you to import photos, videos, and audio files, or record voice notes.
These files are used only to create and display your memories inside the app. They remain on your device unless you choose to export, share, or back them up using iOS sharing features or another service.
## Location Information
MemoryBox may allow you to attach a location to a memory.
If you search for a place, Apple Maps and related Apple services may process your search request according to Apple’s privacy practices. MemoryBox only stores the location information you choose to save with a memory, and that information remains on your device.
MemoryBox does not track your location in the background.
## Backups, Export, Import, and Sharing
MemoryBox may let you export a backup file containing your memories and media. You control where that file is saved or shared
If you share, upload, or store a backup file using another app or service, that service’s privacy policy applies. MemoryBox does not control third-party apps or storage services.
Deleting the app may delete local MemoryBox data unless you have exported a backup.
## Apple Services
Apple may provide system-level services such as photo picking, file picking, maps, diagnostics, crash reports, App Store analytics, iCloud device backup, or app distribution.
Data handled by Apple is governed by Apple’s privacy policy and your Apple device settings. MemoryBox does not control Apple’s data practices.
## Children’s Privacy
MemoryBox is not designed to collect personal information from children. Because MemoryBox does not require an account and does not send your memories to our servers, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
## Security
MemoryBox stores your data locally on your device using iOS app storage. The security of your data also depends on your device settings, such as your passcode, Face ID, Touch ID, iCloud backup settings, and the services you choose for exporting or sharing files.
## Your Choices
You can:
- Edit or delete memories inside the app
- Delete imported media from memories
- Export a backup file
- Import a backup file
- Delete the app to remove local app data from your device, unless you have saved backups elsewhere
## Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when MemoryBox changes. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above.
