MAN LAB

Welcome to the Memory, Attention & Neuroscience Laboratory (MAN Lab), a dedicated research hub focusing on exploring the cognitive processes and neural mechanisms underlying human cognition. Our research team employs neuroscience technologies and psychological research methodologies to deeply understand how the brain supports thinking, memory, attention, and other cognitive functions, and applies these fundamental theories to practical cognitive training and rehabilitation.

Our research areas in MAN Lab are divided into basic theoretical and empirical applications. In the realm of basic theory, we focus on the interaction between attention control and working memory, exploring the neural foundations of these cognitive processes through behavioral experiments and electroencephalography (EEG) technology. Through these studies, we aim to uncover how the brain processes information, allocates resources among various cognitive tasks, and how these processes are influenced by a range of internal and external factors. In recent years, I have also concentrated on the interaction between psychological resilience and cognitive functions, examining the mechanisms of their operation through the construction of theoretical models.

On the empirical application side, we concentrate on designing technologically advanced cognitive training modules for the middle-aged and elderly population to maintain and enhance their cognitive health. Additionally, in collaboration with Healthy Aging Research Center of Chang Gung University, we develop intervention programs for frail groups (such as stroke patients) that target cognitive and upper limb rehabilitation. These programs integrate transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) and electromyostimulation techniques, assessing therapeutic efficacy through EEG and behavioral indicators.

Our research findings have been published in numerous international journals and conferences, covering a broad spectrum of cognitive science from exploring the basic mechanisms of the brain to developing specific cognitive intervention schemes. Through these studies, we hope to enhance the understanding of human cognitive functions and provide new insights and methods for the prevention and treatment of cognitive decline.

Lastly, we warmly welcome students and researchers interested in the fields of cognition and neuroscience to join our team and explore the mysteries of the brain together.
