Accomplishments of the Epidemiology Program Faculty Members

Publications in high-impact journals averaged 4 papers per member during 2024–2025.
University research funding supported 15 studies between 2023–2025.
Faculty supervised over 20 student research projects and participated in the college’s poster day with more than 10 studies during 2023–2025.
Around 5 student graduation projects have been submitted for publication and are currently under review.
All faculty members received the UK Higher Education Academy (HEA) Fellowship for Excellence in Teaching and Learning.
Dr. Howieda Abu Saleh and Dr. Aisha Safwat earned the FAIMER Fellowship in Medical Education (USA).
Dr. Howieda Abu Saleh also received the UK Fellowship in Public Health.
Dr. Ghada Samir obtained several international certificates from the University of Illinois in areas such as “Foundations of Teaching,” “Assessment,” “Data Power BI” and “Instructional Design Foundations and Applications”.
Dr. Howieda serves as head of Quality of teaching and Learning Unit at the College of Health.
Dr. Aisha Safwat leads the Epidemiology Program.
Dr. Ghada Samir heads both the Academic Advising Unit and the Student Support Unit.
Dr. Amani Al-Harithi holds membership in several committees at the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
Dr. Aisha Safwat supervises the Faculty Development Initiative under the College’s Research and Innovation Agency.
Dr. Aisha also serves as a Quality Expert at the Deanship of Quality and Development and contributes to the Teaching and Learning Lab Initiative at the College of Education and Human Development.
Dr. Howieda Abu Saleh and Dr. Aisha Safwat act as quality reviewers for various academic programs within and outside the college.
The International Field Epidemiology Day celebration was held in September 2023 at the college atrium, with participation from 20 program students and attendance exceeding 100 students, staff, and faculty members.
Delivered awareness lectures on World Occupational Health and Safety Day at Najm Company.
Presented lectures on Health Management at King Abdulaziz Medical City (National Guard University).
Participated in International Women’s Day at Roshon Waterfront to raise awareness about breast cancer in March 2024.
Program students actively engaged in events organized by the College of Health Club and the Research and Innovation Club.
Internship students collaborated with faculty supervisors to present their research projects during the 3rd and 4th Poster Days in 2024 and 2025.
