Melodart is designed primarily as an offline music player. Your privacy is important, and this policy explains what information the app does and does not collect, how data is used, and how your information is protected.
Melodart does not collect personal information, music files, or usage analytics by default.
All data used by the app is stored locally on your device to provide a fast, offline experience. This includes:
Song metadata (artist, album, title edits)
Playlist data
Playback positions and preferences
Theme and personalization settings
If you choose to enable optional services (such as crash reporting), limited technical information required to provide those services may be transmitted to the provider of that service.
These features are opt-in only, and you will be informed at the time you enable them.
If you use the Backup and Restore features, the app can package selected local app data and/or song archives into files stored in a folder of your choice. These files are created only when you explicitly start a backup or restore action.
Melodart does not:
Sell personal data
Share personal data with advertisers
Include advertising or analytics SDKs by default
Any information stored by Melodart is used solely to enable app functionality, including:
Building and searching your music library
Editing song metadata and organizing playlists
Managing virtual folders and sorting options
Personalizing playback and theme settings
Buckup and Restore are used only to export/import your library-related app data and optional song archives, allowing you to migrate, recover, or transfer your setup. Melodart does not upload backup files to developer-owned servers.
When you create a backup, Melodart may include app data such as playlists, metadata edits, likes, hidden songs, play counts, lyrics, and relevant settings, depending on the backup type you choose. If you export a song's archive, the media files selected for export are written to the destination you choose. Restore actions read backup/archive files that you explicitly select. Restore does not run automatically. Backup files saved to shared/public storage may be accessible to other apps or users with access to that location. For sensitive libraries, use secure device storage and share backup files carefully.
All processing is performed locally on your device.
Melodart requests only the permissions necessary for core functionality:
Media / Audio Access
Used to discover and play music files stored on your device.
Storage / File Access
Used to read and save metadata edits, playlists, and app-related cache files.
Notifications
Used to display playback controls and media notifications while music is playing.
Permissions are requested at runtime and can be revoked at any time through your device settings.
Please note that revoking certain permissions may limit app functionality (for example, the app may not be able to scan or play music files).
Melodart stores all music data, metadata, and preferences locally on your device.
Because no user data is stored on external servers by default:
Your data is not exposed to server-side breaches
The developer does not access or retain copies of your music or personal metadata
However, local data may be accessible to anyone with physical access to your unlocked device. We recommend using device-level protections such as:
Screen locks
Encrypted backups
Secure storage features
Cached and temporary files used to improve performance may be automatically deleted by the app or the operating system when storage space is needed.
Melodart uses open-source libraries to provide core features such as media playback and file access.
These libraries are used for functionality only, not for user tracking.
The app does not include advertising or analytics SDKs by default.
Melodart does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If you believe a child has provided personal data through the app, please contact the developer so appropriate action can be taken.
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in the app or legal requirements.
Updates will be reflected on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
