Lasagna 

What you need:

1 large cast iron pan

1 13x9 baking dish

 

Meat Sauce Ingredients:

1 pound ground round (85/15)

2 tbsp olive oil

1 medium onion diced

2 tbsp Italian seasoning

1 ½ tsp sugar

1 tsp garlic powder

½ tsp salt

2 cans (28 oz/each) crushed tomatoes

1 can (14 oz) petite diced tomatoes

3 tbsp tomato paste

¼ c grated parmesan cheese

 

Filling Ingredients:

32 oz Ricotta cheese

2 c grated mozzarella cheese

½ c grated parmesan cheese

2 eggs (beaten)

2 tbsp Italian seasoning

½ tsp pepper

1 tsp salt

1 pk 8 oz lasagna precooked noodles

 

 

What you need to do: 

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Make your meat sauce first. Brown your ground beef, drain and set aside. In the same pan add your oil, onion, Italian seasoning, sugar, garlic powder, and salt. Cook for 5 minutes.  Now add your crushed tomatoes, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, and parmesan cheese. Stir well, bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes. Then add your beef back in and cook an additional 5 minutes. Now set your sauce aside and make your filling. In a mixing bowl add your ricotta, 1 ½ c mozzarella cheese, ¼ c parmesan cheese, eggs, Italian seasoning along with your salt and pepper. Now spray your 13x9 pan with non-stick spray. In the bottom of your baking dish add 1 ½ c meat sauce, top with noodles, the spread your cheese mixture then sauce. Now repeat for 3 layers. Cover and Bake for 35 minutes. Remove your foil and bake at 475 degrees and cook for 15 minutes.  

 

Helpful Hints:  

Don’t use pre shredded cheese from the store. Grate your own and thank me later
