Melissa R. Wilson

Hello! I am a PhD candidate in economics at the University of Oregon. I received my BA in economics from the University of South Florida in 2016. My research fields are applied microeconometrics, labor, and health, and my research focuses on policies related to the criminal justice system and racial inequality. I am on the job market this fall and will be presenting work in which I explore the incidence of racial discrimination and estimate the magnitude of the racial disparity in arrest rates caused by taste-based discrimination. My personal interests include swimming, singing, and walking my dog.
