Welcome to my web page!

I am Meisam Farrokhifar, holding a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering awarded by the Polytechnic University of Milan in Italy. I hold a Senior Member grade from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). I am especially interested in developing technology enablers that drive innovation for solving the power system’s grand challenges, providing new mathematical models and tools for enhanced efficiency of the system.

I am a docent at HZ University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands, where I engage in various energy projects. My background includes extensive research and technical hands-on experience at leading institutions such as the Eindhoven University of Technology, the University of Groningen, and the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech). At Skoltech, I participated as a principal investigator in several projects related to the planning and operation of power and energy systems. I also collaborated on the “Energy Systems Planning for Government Regulations” project, funded by the Next Generation Program: Skoltech (Russia)-MIT (USA) Joint Projects.

Prior to the above-mentioned careers, I served as an Assistant Professor at Azad University in Iran. In this role, I had the privilege of imparting knowledge through graduate lectures, workshops, and seminars, focusing on modeling and optimization challenges within distribution grids. Additionally, I provided guidance and mentorship to more than 25 master's thesis projects, fostering the academic growth of aspiring engineers and researchers.

Furthermore, I actively contribute to the academic community as a dedicated referee for several prestigious international peer-reviewed journals. My commitment to upholding rigorous research standards and ensuring the quality of scholarly work has led me to assess and provide valuable feedback on numerous manuscripts.

In recognition of my expertise and contributions to the field, I have also been honored to serve as a scientific committee member for various international conferences. These roles have afforded me the opportunity to help shape the discourse and direction of important discussions within the domain of electrical engineering and power systems.
