Mega Novita is an Associate Professor in Program Studi Informatika, Fakultas Teknik dan Informatika, Universitas PGRI Semarang (UPGRIS). She obtained Bachelor degree (S.Si) in Mathematics from Satya Wacana Christian University in 2009 under the supervision of Dr. Adi Setiawan and Dr. Didit Budi Nugroho. Her essay was Study of Granger Causality between Exchange Rate to the United State Dollar and Australian Dollar with Forecasting Using Vector Autoregression Analysis.
In 2009, Mega was enrolled in a double degree Master's program between Magister Biology, Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana (UKSW) and Graduate School of Science and Technology, Kwansei Gakuin University (KGU) with a scholarship from the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia. At UKSW, she obtained Master's degree (M.Si) in Biology in 2011 and was awarded as the Best Graduate of the Year. Under the supervision of Prof. Ferdy Samuel Rondonuwu and Dr. Jubhar C. Mangimbulude, she studied the Determination of Rhodopseudomonas Palustris Cell Biomass Based on Protein Spectra of NIR Spectroscopy. Whereas in KGU, she obtained Master's degree (M.Nat.Sc) in Chemistry in 2012 under the supervision of Prof. Kazuyoshi Ogasawara. She studied First-Principles Electronic-Structure Calculations of Mn4+-Doped Red Phosphors for White LED Applications.
In 2012, Mega was granted the Monbukagakusho scholarship from the Japanese Government (MEXT) and enrolled in the Doctor course in the same laboratory as her Master course. She performed a Theoretical Investigation on the Electronic Structures of Novel Red Phosphor Materials Based on Mn4+ Ion and Its Isoelectronic Ions and obtained her Doctor of Science degree (Dr.Sc) in 2015. She then flew to South Korea and engaged in postdoctoral research in the Department of Chemical Engineering, Chonbuk National University (CBNU) under the supervision of Prof. Kim Jeong Seok and Dr. Kim Yang Soo for about 5 months.
Several awards she has ever received are Excellent Young Researcher from DV-Xα Society Japan (2012), Excellent Female Researchers i.e., Nitta Kinnen Awards, and Haruka Yamada Awards from Kwansei Gakuin University (2014). By achieving her Doctor degree at age 26, she was recorded as the Indonesian youngest female who obtained Doctor Degree in Chemistry by Indonesian World-Record Museum (MURI) in 2016.
Mega began her professional work in Fakultas Teknik dan Informatika, UPGRIS in November 2015. She was appointed as Assistant Professor (Lektor III.c) in December 2017. On December 2022 she was promoted to Associate Professor (Lektor Kepala). During 2019-2023 she served as the Head of Science and Technology Research Centre of Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (LPPM) UPGRIS. Besides her activities as lecturer, currently she serves as the Head of International Affairs of Unit Pelaksana Teknis Kerjasama dan Urusan Internasional, UPGRIS
