We are also open to thoughtful conversations about other long-term placements that best support each cat’s well-being. Poppa is friendly and social, Momma is shy but gentle, and Baby is playful and curious.

The Bear family appeared at our home in August 2025 and quickly made it clear they intended to stay. After ensuring they were safe, we had all three spayed/neutered, microchipped, and fully vetted. Since then, they’ve been living indoors on a routine, learning what it means to feel secure and cared for.
We as aging caregivers are now planning a permanent move to a significantly smaller home. Rather than compromise the cats’ safety or well-being, we are seeking a home that can offer appropriate space and long-term stability. The need to adopt them out is not related to behavior or medical concerns.
The Bears have thrived together indoors on a routine, and our priority is to keep them together if the right home emerges. As Baby has grown and gained confidence, we’ve also learned more about each cat’s individual needs and are open to thoughtful placement conversations that support long-term success for everyone.
As part of our planned transition, we are seeking placement by the end of February 2026. While there is a defined timeline, the priority remains a thoughtful, well-matched home that can offer long-term stability. Significant transition support is available to help ensure a smooth placement.
Papa Bear (~1.5 y.o.) is the social anchor of the family.
He enjoys attention, seeks out companionship, and is happiest sitting near (or on!) his people.
He’s affectionate, responsive, and confident, while appreciating space when he’s had enough. He communicates clearly and settles easily once he feels safe.
Poppa’s relaxed, confident presence helps the household feel settled and provides reassurance for the others.
Momma Bear (~4 y.o.) is gentle,
shy, observant, and calm.
She startles easily with change or unfamiliar people but settles once she feels safe.
While she doesn’t enjoy being picked up, Momma loves affection on her terms — especially head scratches and quiet companionship.
With patience and time, she continues to make meaningful progress and shows just how loving she can be.
Baby Bear (<1 y.o.) is playful, curious, full of life.
She loves to explore, run, climb, and engage. She’s often first to invite playtime with Poppa, Momma, and her caregivers.
While still a little shy with too much handling, she’s growing in confidence daily and thrives with gentle interaction and routine.
She is closely bonded to both Poppa and Momma, playing with each and remaining a comfort for Momma when she needs it.
The Bear family cats will thrive in a home that enjoys a balanced rhythm of play and calm companionship. They are well suited for adopters who appreciate interactive play with some cats and gentle, unforced affection with others.

Our first priority is placing the Bear family together. We’re also open to thoughtful conversations about alternative placements that support each cat’s long-term well-being, particularly as Baby continues to grow and gain confidence. Any placement decisions will be made carefully and with the cats’ best interests at heart.
Like many rescue cats, the Bears may need time to adjust to a new space. We ask adopters to be patient and allow them to settle at their own pace — the bond you earn will be worth it.
To help ensure a smooth and successful transition, significant support is available for the adoptive or foster-to-adopt home, including:
Starter supply of current food and litter
Familiar beds, toys, and comfort items
Ongoing consultation and transition support from the current caregivers
Behaviorist consultation if desired during the adjustment period
Assistance with medical care coordination if needed
Willingness to collaborate with a rescue or adoption organization throughout placement
This support is offered to reduce transition stress and help the family settle comfortably into their new home.
Foster-to-adopt is a trial placement where a home welcomes the cats first as fosters, with the intention of adopting once everyone confirms the fit.
A foster-to-adopt arrangement allows the cats to transition smoothly into a new home and gives the household time to settle into a shared routine. We are seeking a permanent home and are happy to take the time needed to find the right match.
We anticipate a rescue-mediated foster-to-adopt arrangement, where a rescue remains the legal placement contact during the trial, and if it doesn't work, the rescue coordinates next steps.
Given the upcoming timeline, early inquiries are appreciated. Our placement priorities are:
