MeetMeter — Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 3, 2026
MeetMeter ("the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension that calculates the real-time cost of your meetings. This Privacy Policy explains what data the Extension accesses, how it is used, and how it is stored.
1. Data We Do Not Collect
MeetMeter does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. Specifically:
No names, emails, or account information are collected.
No meeting content, audio, video, or screen recordings are accessed or stored.
No usage analytics or telemetry are sent to any server.
No cookies are set by the Extension.
2. Data Stored Locally on Your Device
The Extension stores the following data only on your own device using the Chrome storage.local API. This data never leaves your browser:
Your hourly rate preference (e.g., $50/hr)
Your participant count setting
Meeting history (PRO users only): date, duration, participant count, hourly rate, and calculated cost
PRO license key (if applicable), used solely to verify your purchase
You can clear all stored data at any time by removing the Extension from Chrome.
3. License Verification (PRO Users Only)
If you purchase MeetMeter PRO, the Extension will send your license key to the Gumroad API (api.gumroad.com) solely for the purpose of verifying that the key is valid. No other personal information is transmitted during this process. Gumroad's own privacy policy applies to any data stored on their platform at the time of purchase.
4. Permissions Used
storage — to save your settings and meeting history locally on your device.
tabs — to detect when you are on a supported meeting page (Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams) in order to activate the cost overlay.
Host access to meet.google.com, zoom.us, teams.microsoft.com — to inject the cost overlay widget into your meeting page.
Host access to api.gumroad.com — to verify PRO license keys (PRO users only).
5. Third-Party Services
MeetMeter does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The only external connection made by the Extension is to api.gumroad.com for license verification, as described above.
6. Children's Privacy
MeetMeter is intended for professional use and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
7. Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes materially, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
