Treatment of respiratory tract disorders associated with viscid mucus; relief of sore throat symptoms (lozenge only)
Dosage Range
Oral:
Children 2 to <6 years: 7.5 to 15 mg 3 times daily.
Children 6 to 12 years: 15 to 30 mg 2 to 3 times daily.
Children >12 years, Adolescents, and Adults: 60 to 120 mg/day in 2 to 3 divided doses (immediate release) or 75 mg once daily (extended release capsules; adults only).
Inhalation: Solution for nebulization (7.5 mg/mL):
Children <6 years: 15 mg (2 mL) 1 to 2 times daily.
Children ≥6 years, Adolescents, and Adults: 15 to 22.5 mg (2 to 3 mL) 1 to 2 times daily.
Lozenge:
Children ≥12 years, Adolescents, and Adults: 20 mg (1 lozenge) dissolved in mouth as needed (maximum: 6 lozenges/day).
