INTRODUCTION
Medical education is the cornerstone for the development of clerkship medical students and residents. Although medical education has been around for decades with the sole purpose of preparing the next line of attending physicians. In the early 2000’s a few medical education fellowships started in an attempt to better aid faculty with the training of medical students and residents. In recent years these fellowships have grown exponentially. The Medical Education Leadership Track (MELT) was developed to educate and prepare Emergency Medicine residents with a strong interest in medical education and hospital leadership. The MELT was created to help our residents assume faculty positions, obtain medical education fellowships, and prepare residents to become leaders in medical education and administration.
