MediaMint Privacy Policy

MediaMint ("we", "our", or "us") is designed to help you compress videos and photos directly on your device. We respect your privacy and aim to keep your media local whenever possible.
1. Information We Collect
MediaMint does not require you to create an account, and we do not intentionally collect personal information such as your name, email address, contacts, location, or advertising identifiers.
The app may process the following information on your device:
- Media you choose to import or scan, such as videos and photos.
- App preferences and local state, such as tutorial completion, compression settings, and workflow progress.
- Permission choices, such as access to Photos or Notifications, if you choose to grant them.
We do not use analytics, advertising trackers, or third-party marketing SDKs to collect personal data.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information above only to provide app functionality, including:
- Compressing videos and photos.
- Scanning your media library to estimate storage savings.
- Saving your preferences locally on your device.
- Notifying you when a compression job completes, if you allow notifications.
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
We do not upload your media to our servers.
MediaMint is built to process media on your device whenever possible. Any third-party libraries used for media processing operate locally and are not used to collect your personal data.
We may only disclose information if required by law or to protect our legal rights.
4. Data Storage and Retention
Media you import, compression history, and exported files may be stored locally on your device until you delete them.
App preferences are stored locally so the app can remember your settings and whether you have seen the tutorial.
You can remove local files from inside the app. You can also delete the app to remove its locally stored data from your device.
5. Your Choices
You can control or limit access to certain features:
- Photos access: required if you want to import from or save to your photo library.
- Notifications: optional and only used to alert you when a task finishes.
If you deny a permission, some features may not work as intended.
6. Children’s Privacy
MediaMint is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect information handled by the app. However, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will update the effective date above and post the revised version.
