Intolerable Acts

When the King heard that the Bostonians threw the tea into the harbor, he stood up and said "the die is cast," which was his way of saying, there's no turning back.

His next decision was to close all of the American Ports so that no trade could go in or out of America--a blockade of America. These were known as the Intolerable Acts.

This decision of the King led to the First American Continental Congress in 1774, where the question was "How should we respond?"
