ABOUT MEDALERT
MedAlert is a local-first personal safety app.
No account required.
No server storage.
No automatic data collection.
WHERE IS YOUR DATA
All your data is stored only on your device by default. We do not operate any servers. We never automatically send your data anywhere.

NO INTERNET NEEDED
MedAlert does not need internet. Medicine reminders, health tracking, medical records — everything works without internet. Only emergency SMS is sent through your phone SIM card.
BACKUP — HONEST EXPLANATION
MedAlert offers an optional export feature. When you choose to export your backup to Google Drive or any other location, that action is entirely your choice and under your control.
We do not have access to your backup files. Once data is saved to Google Drive or any other platform, that platform's own privacy policy applies.
We recommend Google Drive as a convenient option but the choice is entirely yours. Other options include OneDrive, your PC, or any storage you trust.
EMERGENCY SMS
Emergency SMS messages are sent directly from your device using your SIM card only when fall is detected or SOS is pressed. Messages go only to contacts you saved. We never receive or store these messages.
LOCATION
Your location is used ONLY during an emergency. A Google Maps link is added to the emergency SMS so your family can find you. Your location is never tracked at any other time. Never stored. Never shared.
PERMISSIONS
SMS — to send emergency alerts from your device
Location — to include in emergency SMS
Notifications — for medicine reminders
Alarm — for exact medicine timing
Storage — to save medical reports locally
All permissions are used ONLY for your safety.
DATA RISKS — HONEST WARNING
We store nothing on our end. But these risks exist:
❌ Factory Reset — data lost forever
❌ Change phone — data lost forever
❌ Uninstall app — data lost forever
❌ Phone stolen — security risk
❌ Cloud export — that platform's policy applies
So please:
✅ Backup at least once a month
✅ Keep phone locked and secure
✅ Understand your backup destination's policy
