Hi, I am Touhidul—an engineer and researcher passionate about making power grids smarter, cleaner, and more reliable for the future.
I am currently doing my M.Sc. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Alberta, where I work on making clean transportation a reality. In simple terms: I study how thousands of electric vehicles can plug into the grid without turning the lights off. I use AI and machine learning to find smart solutions for tomorrow’s energy challenges.
Before grad school, I worked as a utility engineer in Bangladesh, where I designed high-voltage substations, reviewed grid expansion projects, and kept the system running smoothly under all kinds of challenges. I have also taught courses as a lecturer and now enjoy guiding students as a teaching assistant.
My research interests orbit around smart grids, EV integration, renewable energy, and AI applications in power systems. Along the way, I have published papers, volunteered at conferences, and collaborated with people equally passionate about the future of energy.
Outside the lab, you will find me watching movies, sharing food with friends, or solving everyday puzzles—like how to fit way too many groceries into one backpack.
In short: I am passionate about building cleaner, smarter energy systems, one algorithm (and one coffee) at a time.
