This link leads to the machine-readable files that are made available in response to the federal Transparency in Coverage Rule and includes negotiated service rates and out-of-network allowed amounts between health plans and healthcare providers. The machine-readable files are formatted to allow researchers, regulators, and application developers to more easily access and analyze data.

The tutorial will be live and interactive allowing everyone the chance to ask their questions and clarify any doubts on how to find research positions in the US. It will held over zoom on March 23rd of 2024 (Exact time to be determined). In addition, you will get immediate access to the recording of prior webinars when you sign-up now.

During the intervening decades, the control groups have expanded. In the 1970s, 456 Boston inner-city residents were enlisted as part of the Glueck Study, and 40 of them are still alive. More than a decade ago, researchers began including wives in the Grant and Glueck studies.

The long-term research has received funding from private foundations, but has been financed largely by grants from the National Institutes of Health, first through the National Institute of Mental Health, and more recently through the National Institute on Aging.

According to the study, those who lived longer and enjoyed sound health avoided smoking and alcohol in excess. Researchers also found that those with strong social support experienced less mental deterioration as they aged.

In part of a recent study, researchers found that women who felt securely attached to their partners were less depressed and more happy in their relationships two-and-a-half years later, and also had better memory functions than those with frequent marital conflicts.

Psychiatrist George Vaillant, who joined the team as a researcher in 1966, led the study from 1972 until 2004. Trained as a psychoanalyst, Vaillant emphasized the role of relationships, and came to recognize the crucial role they played in people living long and pleasant lives.

SOCRA offers a robust portfolio of live in-person conferences, workshops, and courses to keep you at the forefront of the industry and support your continuing educational goals. See below for a full list of live programs, or visit the event calendar.

This conference provides attendees with new information, tools, and real life examples to help participants navigate the components of quality management in clinical research - quality planning, quality control, quality assurance, and quality improvement.

All research personnel must receive training in the ethical care and use of animals and the regulations, policies and procedures governing animal use in research as well as in the actual procedures that may be performed on animals during the course of the research. UCI uses the web-based training resources of the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) to provide basic training in the humane care and use of animals in research and teaching via its basic training module, periodic refresher courses and species- and procedure-specific modules. All required online training must be completed before any individual may be listed on or added to an approved IACUC protocol; individuals who fail to complete required training will not be authorized to engage in any activities involving live animals.

To be authorized to work with live animals in research or teaching activities, the Principal Investigator and their research personnel must complete all required CITI training, as identified by the CITI enrollment screening questions.

Refresher Training in laboratory animal use is required at least once every three years, regardless of an individual's qualifications or level of expertise. All researchers will receive a reminder from CITI when their refresher course is due.

SAEM is proud to bring you the best research course for junior faculty taught by leading experts in academic emergency medicine. The purpose of this course is to arm participants with the fundamental knowledge and skills to design a high quality research project and grant proposal to jumpstart their research career. Participants will also develop deeper ties and mentorship within the SAEM research community. The course is targeted to assist junior faculty within five years of graduation, fellows, and senior residents who are interested in pursuing a career in research.

Scholarships are available for SAEM's popular Advanced Research Methodology Evaluation and Design (ARMED) course and the ARMED MedEd course! Learn how to take your research career to the next level in traditional research areas and in education research including how to design a high quality research project.

ARMED will guide you on the core principles to design high-quality research projects and obtain early career grant funding. The course includes three workshops and monthly webinars. The fall workshop focuses on research design fundamentals and provides introductory material on grant writing. The winter workshop is the most substantive part of the course and focuses on refinement of research design, academic career development, and mentoring. The final workshop is the grant writing workshop. Webinars supplement the workshops with presentations from national experts. Participants derive the most benefit from this course and its associated workshops if they have a research project (or topical area of interest) in mind.

Each class of participants will have 10-20 members. Interested candidates must submit an application form by the deadline to be considered for the course. Even if you're unsure of your budget and travel restrictions, you can still apply now. Payment will not be due until you are accepted into the program.

This course is geared towards junior faculty members with a foundational knowledge of emergency care research. Fellows and senior residents with basic knowledge of research are also eligible to participate.

Tuition is due thirty days after acceptance to an SAEM course, and must be paid in full before the first session in order to participate. If extenuating circumstances prevent payment on time or the registrant's ability to participate in the course, the registrant should contact SAEM for alternative arrangements.

If the participant withdraws from the course at least thirty days prior to the first session, 100% tuition will be reimbursed. If the participant withdraws less than thirty days prior to the start of the course, tuition will be 50% reimbursed. Tuition will not be reimbursed at any time after the first session has begun.

Citing stark factual differences, a university veterinarian at Hamilton made it clear that some (anti-vivisectionist) groups often deliberately used misinformation to get their point across.23 For example, in this very situation, the pigs used in ATTC were cared for by well-trained, dedicated staff who would ensure that they were housed in a comfortable environment, were well-fed and treated with the utmost care and respect. Pre-delivery to the institution, the pigs would be transported in an air-conditioned van and given a period in which to acclimatize to their new surroundings. The pigs would be carefully anaesthetized before undergoing the ATTC procedure, and prior to the conclusion of the training, they would be humanely euthanased with an overdose of anaesthetic while still unconscious. This entire protocol certainly does not reflect a portrait of inhumane treatment of animals, as claimed by some anti-vivisectionist groups.

PETA filed a complaint in 2010 to the USDA against the University of Michigan (UM), which conducts Survival Flight Training using animals.24 It claimed that the UM had violated the US Animal Welfare Act because it used cats and pigs in an emergency training course for its Survival Flight nurses (personnel providing emergency air transportation service for patients in critical care). PETA stated that the UM should use human simulators instead of live animals to practise common emergency procedures such as endotracheal intubation, which involves inserting a breathing tube into the trachea to ventilate the lungs.

Military medical personnel and researchers across most institutions acknowledge the use and usefulness of alternative approaches as being very important. They do not use animals unnecessarily or uncaringly. All personnel consider it a privilege to use animals in research or training, and demonstrate this by treating them with the utmost level of care and respect.

This article highlights the importance of military training in life saving techniques and treatments developed through clinical research and now used by physicians and combat medics operating in the emergency arena of warfare. To this end, it should be remembered that such protocols have been refined to minimise pain and distress to animals, that the number of animals used is always reduced to the absolute minimum possible and that where effective non-animal alternatives exist, every effort is made to promptly implement or adapt them for current use. And although military and civil researchers will make use of new alternate technology and training methodologies wherever possible, at this point in time, animals (along with other types of tuition) remain vital in advancing medicine and for use in life-saving training techniques.

The Upstate of South Carolina is situated in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, with a number of charming small towns, cities, and rural areas that are all within daily driving distance of Clemson. While many Clemson Libraries employees live in the town of Clemson, many also live in the neighboring towns and cities of the Upstate. You can find more information about each of the counties through Sciway.

The Princeton Institute for Computational Science & Engineering (PICSciE), in collaboration with OIT Research Computing and other academic departments, offers workshops and mini-courses this academic year. Most workshops will be held in-person but may pivot to holding all sessions remotely to comply with the University and State health and safety protocols.
