The Chantecler is a large chicken that lays respectably well and is a good meat producer. Roosters weigh around 9 pounds (4.1 kg), and hens are 6.5–7.5 lb (2.9–3.4 kg). The breed possess yellow skin and beaks, and lay brown eggs. With plumage that lies tight against the body but has a good deal of fluff, and an exceptionally small cushion comb and wattles, the Chantecler is one of the most cold hardy chickens. They are gentle birds amenable to taming, but can be temperamental in confinement. (copied from wikipedia)
Parent flock was originally purchased from Bergs hatchery and this is the description on thier website: White Danish Geese are ideal for meat production due to their large size and rapid growth. Its white feathers make it more eye appealing when dressed, and the feathers are great for pillows. The White Danish goose can reach weights up to 25 lbs live at maturity. Some other white geese of mixed breeds have been added to maintain healthy bloodlines.
Ducks are messy but great egg layers, and have a large delicious carcases. (Also, they are very pretty on a pond.)
I have been attempting to breed a better turkey for our climate since 2015. This breed is still being tweaked but mostly just in appearance at this point. My breed has been bred in an attempt to produce a medium/large bird, that is cold hardy, able to self procreate, have better health characteristics than commercial meat varieties, have low mortality levels, and retain a broad breast meat carcass. They are bred from the following original varieties: large white turkey, Orlopp Bronze turkey, Chocolate turkey, Merriam's wild turkey, and Eastern wild turkey.
This old incubator is the core of my endeavor and I thank YHWH for blessing me with it.
