"A makerspace is a place where students can gather to create, invent, tinker, explore and discover using a variety of tools and materials." --Diana Rendina, Renovated Learning blog

In 2016, the McKinley Library was awarded the Innovation Grant by the New York City Department of Education. This grant provided the funds to begin a makerspace with a focus on textiles. This includes sewing, weaving, knitting or any style of producing woven fabric.

For examples of student work, see the Makerspace bulletin board just outside the library.
