Cookbook Collection

Did you know that our library holds the NYC school library system's premiere collection of cookbooks and books about food? Through the New York State Cooperative Collection Development (CCD) program, we receive funds annually to develop and maintain the special collection of food- and cooking-related materials for New York City schools. Our circulating cooking collection numbers over 275 titles, and continues to grow each year.

In addition to cookbooks written for children and families, the collection encompasses informational texts related to growing and preparing food, books on health and nutrition, careers in cooking, fiction and poetry with food and cooking themes, as well as professional resources for teaching with these materials.
