Welcome to my website! I am an associate professor in the Department of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Birmingham (UK). I received my Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Georgia.

My research examines regionalism/regional integration and its intersection with  domestic political and security outcomes. I am particularly interested in understanding public opinion towards regional organizations in the developing world, international responses to coups d'etat, and the role of regional organizations in post-coup politics.

A list of my publish works, manuscripts under review, and working papers can be found on my research pagevita, and here. My teaching page provides a list of modules I am currently teaching and those I have previously taught.

Between 2012 and 2019, I was an assistant professor in the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Nazarbayev University in Astana, Kazakhstan.
