Ethics is a very laid-back course that you can easily enjoy and pass as long as you actively participate. The class consists of some required readings to do before showing up to the afternoon lecture. Usually lectures contain some small group activities which are very interactive, so definitely plan to participate even just a little. It helps to have the readings done beforehand, but isn’t 100% necessary.
There are no quizzes or exams for this course. It is purely based on your attendance and participation in small group discussions.
Lecture - Skim over the assigned readings before class and show up to lecture in-person. There was no Zoom option available to students in the 2023-2024 school year.
Small Groups - Be ready to participate in the case-based discussions. Remember your grade here is based on participation, so it’s really hard to fail, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t put your best foot forward. It's important to begin to learn how to think through ethical dilemmas before you get to the wards so that you're prepared to handle a variety of situations. It could be a great way to make brownie points with your small group faculty leaders.
The only resources you will need for this class will be posted on Brightspace as pre-recorded video lectures, uploaded reading materials, or other course content. You will not need external resources.
